Advancing Global Climate Action: Partnering with South Africa
|
Dear IKI partners and friends,
In this edition of our newsletter, we turn our attention to the work of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) in South Africa. The country is one of 14 priority partner countries with which the IKI works particularly closely. This geographic focus reflects a clear rationale: climate action and biodiversity conservation is directed where available resources can achieve the greatest possible impact.
Discover how our projects are:
- supporting South Africa’s transition towards a climate-neutral and socially just economic and societal model,
- contributing to innovative approaches to climate change adaptation, and
- linking the conservation of biodiversity and cultural heritage with job creation.
Enjoy reading!
Best regards,
Your IKI Communications Team

A Sponge City in the Making: Advancing Urban Resilience
|

With support from the IKI, the municipality is developing an innovative response: the “Sponge City” approach, which treats rainwater not as waste, but as a resource to be captured and reused.
