The International Climate Initiative at COP30 in Belém
|
|
Dear IKI partners and friends,
This year, the International Climate Initiative (IKI) was once again engaged with a wide range of activities at the UN Climate Change Conference, contributing events, initiatives, networking opportunities and various other formats.
At the IKI High Level Event in the German Climate Pavilion, Federal Environment Minister Carsten Schneider took the opportunity to officially launch the first call for ideas for the IKI Large Grants, while simultaneously opening the next rounds of the IKI Medium Grants and IKI Small Grants. In his speech, he emphasised that “Germany remains a reliable partner for global cooperation on climate action.”
Earlier, also at COP30, the Mitigation Action Facility – likewise supported by the IKI – had kicked off its “Call for Projects 2026”.
In this newsletter, we have compiled an overview of all current funding opportunities for you. We also report on further news from the IKI – for example the new “Power Transmission Acceleration Platform”, which aims to support grid expansion in Latin America and the Caribbean. Finally, we introduce several noteworthy publications released around COP30 – ranging from the Just Transition Compass and the NDC 3.0 Guidebook to the Climate Risk Index 2026.
Enjoy reading!
Best regards,
Your IKI Communications Team
