Closing the financing gap
|
Dear IKI partners and friends,
Two important COPs are coming up in October and November. One of the most important topics of these conferences is the financing of climate and biodiversity action. The mobilisation of finance from all sources is urgently needed to implement the Paris Agreement, the Global Biodiversity Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
For this reason, financing the necessary socio-ecological transition is one of IKI's overarching financing priorities as defined in the IKI Strategy to 2030.
Many different IKI projects and IKI-supported partnerships around the world are working to close the financing gap and align financial flows with global climate and biodiversity goals - using a range of different approaches.
This newsletter presents the stories of these efforts. They range from financing early project development, blended finance tools and training on sustainable urban finance in Mexico to supporting a green finance taxonomy in Nepal.
Enjoy reading!
Best regards,
