Sustainable approaches to reducing deforestation and land-use changes
|
Dear IKI Partners and Friends,
Agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry and land-use change contribute significantly to global warming. At the same time, they are among the main causes of biodiversity loss and the destruction of natural ecosystems. In this newsletter issue, we provide an insight into various projects with which the International Climate Initiative (IKI) is supporting the prevention of land use change and deforestation. In Vietnam, for example, a coffee cultivation project is focusing on digitalisation and social inclusion in order to establish deforestation-free production as a competitive advantage for small farmers. Find out more about IKI's project work.
In addition, there is more exciting news from the IKI. We have just opened the Country Call with Colombia - one of the 14 priority countries of the funding programme. The IKI is thus taking a further step towards strengthening bilateral cooperation with its partner countries. We look forward to receiving numerous and innovative project ideas.
Enjoy reading!
Best regards, Your IKI Communications Team
